SOUL & SAFARI- 7 DAY
FLYING SAFARI - ALL INCLUSIVE
ITINERARY: RUSINGA ISLAND/ MAASAI MARA

DAY 1: Rusinga Island Lodge, Lake Victoria
On arrival in Nairobi you will be met and collected from Jomo Kenyatta Airport or from your Nairobi hotel to catch the 7.45am flight to Kisumu. On arrival at 8.30am you will be met by your Private Wilderness charter plane for a short 15minute flight to Rusinga Island Lodge for your first overnight stay. Relax, unwind and soak away the rigors of long-distance traveling.

DAY 2:Rusinga Island Lodge
This 8 bed roomed lodge is set in a veritable oasis of huge fig trees and lush green lawns tapering down to the lake shore. Bird life is prolific with nesting fish eagles overhead and a myriad of colorful water birds in abundance. Guests may choose to relax in the Spa massage/beauty treatment centre under the supervision of a professional therapist, swim in the pool or take part in more active water sports such as waterskiing and fishing before enjoying a four course dinner by candlelight, on the jetty if they so wish.

DAY 3: Rusinga Island Lodge
The day can unfold with an early morning walk to the nearby archaeological sites where prehistoric Pro-Consul hominid remains were discovered. After a hearty breakfast at the edge of the lake guests may wish to seek the challenge of fishing for giant Nile Perch on the fully equipped boats. The near-by Luo fishing village is a great place to see traditional fishing boats & equipment, visit the local school and learn about the Luo culture. Following an afternoon siesta or Spa treatments guests can enjoy sundowners out at the nearby Bird Islands as the sun sets directly over the world’s second largest, freshwater lake.

DAY 4: Sala's Camp, Maasai Mara
A private charter flight whisks you from Rusinga to the vast savannahs of the world famous Maasai Mara & Sala’s Camp. This is part of the Serengeti ecosystem and is famous for its migratory herds of Wildebeest, large concentrations of predators, Elephants and diversity of large mammal species. The camp has the good fortune to be located on the convergence of 2 rivers, and in the heart of the Mara. This secluded spot offers tranquility and tremendous views along the Sand River towards Tanzania and the Serengeti. From your tents you will be able to enjoy an abundance of birdlife and wildlife.

DAY 5: Sala's Camp
Accommodation is in 7 en-suite tents, one being a large family/honeymoon tent comprising of a double room with central sitting area. Tents are either twin or double. The spacious luxury furnished tents have en-suite bathrooms with flush toilets and safari showers with plenty of hot & cold water. Electricity is solar powered (via invertors), giving all tents plenty of light.

DAY 6: Sala's Camp
During the great wildebeest migration in the months of early July to end October, Sala’s Camp is ideally located since many of the animals move back and forth from the Serengeti in search of lush grasslands in the Mara. The game viewing during this time is exceptional, with dramatic river crossings and attendant predators. The camp also lies adjacent to a designated Rhino conservation area.
Ballooning over the migration is also an exciting fun-filled activity in the Mara, offered as an optional extra from Sala’s Camp; lift off is about 25 minutes drive away.

DAY 7: Departure
The mornings scheduled flight will take you back to Nairobi’s Wilson Airport where a vehicle will meet you and transfer you to yo
