Situated about one mile down the West Coast from Nungwi - Zanzibar, Kendwa is a haven for those that prefer a slightly quieter holiday retreat. Kendwa is famous for its laid back and cool atmosphere. Kendwa itself is a tiny village but along the beach there are four hotel complexes which have been built sympathetically to the environment.
Accommodation:
There are a total of 39 rooms in garden and sea view categories. The garden rooms face the gardens and are comfortable and reasonably priced. There are two types of sea view rooms, 11 of them are located at the back of the lodge, and then the other 10 are almost right on the beach. Unfortunately there is no price difference between the two, so we will always try to get you in to rooms 1-10 when booking with us. These definitely have the best views.
All the rooms are basic but comfortable. They all have en suite facilities, hot water showers and ceiling fans. The sea view rooms have the added bonus of air conditioning. All rooms have 2 ¾ beds in them which can be pushed together to make a double bed. All beds have mosquito nets.
The lodge has 8 rooms which can sleep 4 people, so is excellent for family accommodation
