Queen Elizabeth National Park

Day 1
Your Roaming Africa Safaris and Vacations  Safari guide will meet you and drive northward passing through the famous Luwero Triangle stopping in Masindi for lunch stop. Proceed to drive to Murchison Falls National Park. Drive to the top of the falls for magnificent scenery, breathtaking sight of the raging Nile as it forces it’s way through a rocky gap where millions of gallons of water squeeze in 7 meter gap before it falls (45 meters) in thunderous sound forming a placid river.

Day 2
Start the day with an early morning game drive to the north of the river Nile. You are able to view those animals that are unique to the African Savannah like lion, leopard, giraffe, antelope, elephant, and many warthogs.

Return to the lodge for lunch before going for an afternoon launch cruise on the Nile River. The cruise takes you to the bottom of the thundering falls where you will see huge crocodiles, schools of hippos, buffaloes, elephants and a variety of water birds like herons, cormorants, ducks, bee-eaters, kingfishers, skimmers, fish eagle and the rare shoebill. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3
After an early breakfast, you will depart for Kibale National Park. You will drive via the Albertine Escarpment of the western Rift valley on the Masindi-Hoima-Fort portal road. This will be a long drive south via Hoima to Fort Portal, passing though verdant countryside and traditional homesteads and farms. Fort Portal rests in the shadow of the legendary “Mountains of the Moon,”

Day 4
After breakfast, we shall drive to Kibale Forest National Park for chimpanzee trekking. The activity starts at 8.00 am in the morning. An all day search for chimpanzees and other primates including phoestes, Red-Colobus monkeys, Blues, Red-tailed and grey cheeked Mangabeys swinging through the dense forest and birds, butterflies and many small insects The guide will provide detailed explanations on not only primates, but also on all the forest’s fauna and flora, ensuring that your walk is both informative and enjoyable. This walk is excellent for viewing bird life and primates in close quarters. A visit to Bigodi swamp eco-tourism site in the afternoon is amazing, as we shall encounter rare and beautiful flora and fauna.

Day 5
After an early breakfast, Proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park following the mystical Rwenzori Mountain Range most of the journey. A game drive En-route may be rewarded with view of waterbucks, Elephants, Leopards, Buffaloes, Hyenas and a variety of Antelope species.

After lunch, enjoy the unique 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward. This trip passes through possibly the highest concentration of Hippos, bufallos, elephants and many animals may be seen drinking at the water's edge. This launch cruise offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing. The prolific bird life is colorful and stupendous with well over 550 resident species.

Day 6
After a cup of coffee, you will drive to Kyambura Gorge for chimpanzee trekking. Expect to see various primates most especially Chimpanzee of different species, Black and white Colobus monkeys and other animals like antelopes, hyenas, Lion and many others in the middle of savanna grassland. This gorge is a home of very many bird species.

Return back to the lodge for lunch and a chance to relax by the side of the swimming pool. Should you have the energy in the afternoon, you may want to go for an evening game drive along the Kasenyi track and Queens mile in the park and expect to see Lions, Elephants, cape buffalo, Warthogs, leopard, hyena, mangoose, waterbucks, kobs, and lots many small animals and birds.

Day 7
Following a morning breakfast, we will depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. We will drive through the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth known as Ishasha, famed for its tree-climbing lions. Ishasha is a remote and beautiful extension of Queen Elizabeth National Park. We will see buffalo, topi and hippo among other species. It is a fabulous sight to see the lions draped from the trees and nowhere in Africa do you stand a better chance of seeing this than in the large low-limbed fig tree of Ishasha.

Day 8
After an early breakfast, you walk to the park offices for briefing by your guides. You will then set off to your expedition. The thrill of your encounter in this natural forest will erase the difficulties of the potentially strenuous trek. Bring jungle boots and rain jackets because the park is often wet.
The time you take to find gorillas will depend on the movement of these gentle giants.

Visitors spend one hour with the gorillas watching them go about with their activities. You are likely to enjoy the close view of adults feeding, grooming and resting as the youngsters frolic and swing from vines in delightfully playful display.

After your memorable time with the gorillas, you will return to your camp exhilarated but very excited! You will relieve the encounter with friends over a drink. Have dinner and over night.
Or Should you have the energy, you will go for a village walk, see how Ugandans live, visit the local medicine man!

Day 9
You will return to Kampala after breakfast taking a different route to enjoy the different scenery in the different parts of the country. Make a brief stop the Equator for and take photos and also at Mpambire drum makers or at some crafts display center along the road for souvenirs.
