David Livingstone Safari Lodge- Maasai Mara
Minimum Rate Per Room Per Night -   US $   47

The David Livingstone Safari Lodge is situated to the northeast of the Masai Mara National Reserve, within the borders of the Koyaki/Lemek Wildlife Trust. The lodge sits on the banks of a broad 'bow' on the Mara River, with sweeping views over waters inhabited by large pods of hippo.

The David Livingstone Safari Lodge offers 78 en suite rooms, all with beautiful views over the river and the forests beyond. Most of the rooms are located in intimate cottage-style buildings, with several interlinking rooms. There are also two spacious family/suite rooms in the double-story block. A quarter mile downstream, a permanent tented camp offers seven double en suite tents and a more adventurous encounter with wild Africa.

The public areas of David Livingstone Safari Lodge all look out over the river, with its lively theatre of hippos and crocodiles, and are shaded by acacia trees alive with nest-building weaverbirds.

The main building houses a charming river-facing bar and a broad terrace, where breakfast and lunch are served when the weather is fine.

Restaurant serving homemade table d'h?te cuisine.

Special vegetarian kitchen served by dedicated chef.

Riverfront Hippo Bar and Riverside conference rooms and cocktail terrace are open to serve your requests.

On the edge of the lodge's grounds, an intimate two-story thatched house offers a unique venue for small conferences, workshops and functions.

David Livingstone Safari Lodge has a secluded swimming pool set in a pretty walled garden.

Wildlife video, slide shows and presentations by local rangers and conservationists in the evenings.

Maasai dancing, singing and 'high-jumping' performances on the terrace every other evening.

Kenya walking safaris along the river with armed rangers.

Bush breakfasts and sundowners on river banks.

Other services include a resident nurse and laundry services.
